Community Service Sew Days
The Quilters Guild of Plano Community Service outreach gives members a meaningful way to share their love of quilting while supporting our community. At guild meetings, members can pick up cuddle and pillowcase kits, quilts to bind, and quilt tops, backs, and batting ready for long arm quilting. We welcome donations of quilts and quilt tops of all sizes, which are completed and donated to charitable organizations listed below. Donations of fabric, batting, tools, and quilting supplies are also appreciated and help make quilt kits, backings, challenge projects, and other community service efforts. The Quilters Guild of Plano donated quilts following disasters to the victims of hurricanes in North Carolina, fire victims in California and flood victims in Kerrville, Tx. We currently donate quilts and other items to the following organizations in Collin County and beyond:

Atmosphere for homeless pregnant women.

Pet Shelters
Dog and Cat Beds, made with the scraps and batting cut offs into a case made with heavy fabric and then donated to the numerous pet rescues/shelters and veterinary offices close to where our members live.
School-Age Parent Program of PISD
School-Age Parent Program of PISD, located in Plano, assists students dealing the teen pregnancy and early parenting while staying in school. Donations are given at the end of semesters in April and November. School-Age Parent Program of PISD

Plano Children’s Medical Clinic
Care for children on Medicaid/CHIP; donations include receiving blankets and “cuddles.”

One Common Thread
