Put your creativity to work and join in the fun of our Holiday Pin Cushion Gift Swap! Create a unique pin cushion that reflects your style — traditional, whimsical, elegant, or festive. Patterns are available online for inspiration. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your sewing talents and delight a fellow guild member with a handmade gift. Please bring your completed pin cushion to the December meeting, tucked inside a wrapped gift bag, ready for the exchange. Let’s celebrate the season with creativity, friendship, and a little pin cushion magic!
- This project is to be completed by the December meeting. We will do a version of “Musical Chairs” to facilitate the exchange.

Fat Quarter BINGO
Let’s have a Bingo Quilt Party! Bring in a fat quarter and receive a Quilt Bingo card, and during the meeting some lucky member(s) will receive a bundle of fat quarters! The number of giveaways depends on the number of participants and how many fat quarters we receive. Looking for Holiday or Winter fat quarters.
- Fat quarter category: Spring and floral.
- Limit of 2 fat quarters.
- Participants will receive a Quilt Bingo Card for each fat quarter submitted.
- In the event of multiple winners in a game, names will be put into a bucket and one lucky winner will be announced! Same with subsequent games.
Holiday Party Planning Committee
Sign up to join in on the fun of planning the Holiday Party! Looking for 6–8 people to help with planning, setup, and cleanup. We’ll be looking for tablecloths, centerpieces, beverage ideas, and more. Last year had wonderful participation and the evening was a complete success. Sign up at the Activities Table by the November meeting. Beginning in October we will have a sign-up sheet for bringing a savory item or cookies to the party — plan on participating!
Easy Piecing Grid Challenge
We provide the grid and the pattern.
Sign up to learn the easy piecing grid technique. We have demo support and YouTube links to help with the challenge of creating a Butterfly Block. We will provide the butterfly pattern and the lightweight fusible foundation grid — you provide your creation using your personal stash of scraps.
- Sign up at the Activities Table.
- Pick up your foundation grid and pattern.
- Select your color palette from your stash.
- Completion date: April Guild Meeting. Blocks will be donated to Community Service to assemble into a raffle quilt — “Fluttering Through the Rainbow.”
I Spy Quilt Challenge
Discover the fun of creating an I-Spy Quilt! Made with colorful novelty prints, these quilts are packed with playful images that turn every cuddle into a game of “I Spy.” They make wonderful baby quilts, providing both comfort and interactive fun as little ones grow and explore the pictures. To get you started, each participant will receive a grab bag of 6 surprise I-Spy fabric pieces to incorporate into their quilt. Tops will be donated to Community Service.
- Sign up at the Activities Table.
- Using the I Spy pieces, incorporate them with your scraps to create a cuddle or baby quilt top to donate to Community Service.
- Participants can also search the internet for ideas and instructions from MODA Blockheads 5.
- Completion date: May Guild Meeting.
Paint Chip Challenge
Pick 2 paint chips from the grab bag, then create a star block from the patterns provided, using fabric that matches the paint chips you selected. Your block will be donated and added to other blocks to create a raffle or donation quilt.
- Sign up at the Activities Table.
- Piece a 12″ square using one of the free patterns provided.
- Participants can also search the internet for ideas and instructions from MODA Blockheads 5.
